City and Porosity : Design interventions at the canal in Brussels
In times of war, Oana Bogdan will be talking to students about how we can live together while improving the condition of Earth. She will reflects on the different projects that have been or will be realized by Bogdan & Van Broeck along the canal zone in Brussels.
COOP – reconversion of an old mill into an interpretation center and an incubator for SMEs, Ceci n’est pas (qu’) une caserne – fire station and neighborhood sports facility, Amal Amjahid – sports hall, boxing club, cafeteria, crèche and one dwelling, and Integrated center for drug users.
True to her continuous activism for a high-quality Baukultur, Oana Bogdan anchors the work of Bogdan & Van Broeck in the ongoing public debate and questions the traditional role of the architect. She is the Chairwoman of the “Good Living” Expert Committee for new regional urban regulation in Brussels, Ambassador of Women in Architecture in Belgium and former Secretary of State for cultural heritage in Romania.
