Congratulations to Little C!

Congrats to Little C who won the Rotterdam Architecture Prize 2021, delivered by Oana Bogdan, head of this year’s jury.  With land becoming increasingly scarce, there is a need to innovate and experiment with new forms of urban densification combined with more green and more biodiversity, with high-quality and affordable housing, and with an active and intense urban plinth. Little C’s relevance lies in the new form of high urban density that the project has to offer.

Every year, the Rotterdam Architecture Prize puts the best new buildings in the city in the spotlight. This independent prize for the city of Rotterdam is an initiative of the municipality of Rotterdam, organized by AIR, Architecture Institute Rotterdam. Every year, the best buildings are awarded the RAP jury prize and the RAP audience prize, for the third edition in a row, the public and the jury are unanimous about the best building in Rotterdam. The festive presentation of these two prizes — jury prize and audience prize— took place during the Rotterdam Architecture Month from the Kunsthal Rotterdam. Watch and extract of Oana’s intervention here and re-watch the full ceremony here!

This year’s jury presided by Oana Bogdan is composed of Bert Dirrix (architect and partner at DiederenDirrix), Femke Feenstra (architect and partner at Gortemaker Algra Feenstra), Tobias Verhoeven (director at Synchroon) and Nyasha Harper-Michon (architect and business developer at RAU and columnist for A.Zine).
